The Wahine Project made a full color splash in The Monterey Herald.
“Jennifer Villalobos wanted to surf before, but it’s an expensive sport, she said, and nobody in her family surfs. So the 17-year-old Salinas High student jumped at the chance of free lessons.
“I really love it,” she said. It is the second session for Jennifer, and as she takes a break from the surf, she sits on her board, beaming.
“I stood up twice last time. I’m going to get up again.”
So she gets up, drags her hot pink board by the nose, and heads back into the waves.”
